Marshall is an intelligent energy gateway device designed and manufactured by ZECO Energy in Moorabbin, Victoria. It manages dynamic and fixed export control, overload protection, multi-inverter coordination, and solar sharing for multi-dwelling sites, all in one Australian-made, patented device. Marshall is Clean Energy Council certified and complies with Australian energy regulations for export control and metering.
Marshall is compatible with all major inverter brands across the Australian market. SMA Australia lists ZECO Marshall as one of its two recommended CSIP-AUS-compatible solutions for SMA inverters. For compatibility confirmation on a specific project, contact marshall@zeco.au before you commit.

Marshall Blackbox Ultra includes everything in the Blackbox plus RS485 connectivity for integration with complex commercial energy management systems.
In many cases, yes. Marshall operates as a CSIP-AUS certified gateway device - it sits between the inverter and the DNSP and handles the communication layer the inverter can't manage natively. From February 2025, Victoria requires all new solar systems to use CSIP-AUS approved, internet-connected inverters. Where an inverter isn't on the DNSP's approved list, Marshall can provide the compliant communication channel that allows the system to connect legally. Check the current Marshall compatibility list at marshall@zeco.au for your specific inverter model.
