ZECO Energy Marshall first multi-inverter certified CSIP-AUS 1.2 client

An Australia-First Achievement.

We're proud to announce that ZECO Energy's smart energy management platform, Marshall, is the first Software Communication Client (SCC) in Australia certified to control multiple DER at one site  CSIP-AUS v1.2 (TS5573:2025), independently verified and confirmed by the ANU Centre for Energy Systems (ACES). This will be listed in the Clean Energy Council's official CSIP-AUS v1.2 Approved Inverters list by addition of the "M" class to all ZECO Energy Marshall listings.

This milestone was achieved in collaboration with the Australian National University's CSIP-AUS testing and certification service, and previous and future Marshall listings are being updated to include the new "M" class certification.

What does this mean?

CSIP-AUS is Australia's national communications protocol enabling electricity distribution networks (DNSPs) to monitor and control distributed energy resources (DERs) — rooftop solar, batteries, and beyond — in real time. Version 1.2 (TS5573:2025) is becoming mandatory across NSW, Victoria, QLD, ACT and SA from mid-2026, and underpins critical capabilities including:

• Dynamic Operating Envelopes (DOE)
• Emergency Backstop Mechanism (EBM)
• Secure grid-to-device communication via NEPKI
The M compliance rating specifically validates Marshall's capabilities to manage in multiple inverters at one site where there are multiple inverter makes and models - a technically demanding class within the TS5573:2025 standard that ensures accurate, real-time data exchange between client devices and utility servers.

For the market, M compliance showcases Marshall as not just an engineering capability, but a deployable compliance platform. OEMs can fast-track compliance and market entry using Marshall, installers can use it on complex sites with a clear compliance position, and DNSPs can rely on a tested standard rather than a vendor claim.

We're grateful to the ACES team at ANU for their rigorous testing process and support throughout certification. ZECO Energy and ACES will continue to work collaboratively where possible.

ZECO Marshall supports most major inverter brands and is compatible with SAPN, ENERGYQ, and Victorian DNSPs (AusNet, United Energy, Jemena, Powercor, Citipower).

Overload Control prevents household and commercial overload by monitoring energy import amperage. If the current exceeds the main switch rating, ZECO Marshall trips non-essential loads to keep the system within safe limits. This feature is particularly useful for preventing residential system trips.

ZECO Marshall devices are designed for easy installation. Refer to the installation manuals for more details. They can be connected via LAN, Wi-Fi, or RS485, depending on the setup. A licensed installer should handle the installation to ensure proper integration and compliance.

While an internet connection is recommended for real-time monitoring and firmware updates, ZECO Marshall can operate in a local network environment with limited cloud dependency.

Yes, ZECO Marshall devices are Clean Energy Council (CEC) certified, Australian Made and comply with relevant Australian energy regulations for export control and metering.

Users can monitor and control Marshall devices through our web portal or mobile app, allowing access to energy data, export settings, and load control features remotely.

Yes, Marshall supports both residential and commercial solar installations, making it ideal for larger energy management applications.
